Vimy
Stops in Mesa, AZ for Maintenance
      17-July-2001
The Vimy spent an extra day in Mesa, AZ on its cross-country trip to
Oshkosh. Hosted by the Confederate Air Force at Falcon Field, the Vimy
underwent routine maintenance, which was conducted by FAA-certified mechanic
John LaNoue (who built the Vimy in 1994), German BMW-trained mechanic
Markus Herm, and pilots Mark Rebholz and Tina Ziolkowski.
Late in the morning, Phoenix Channel 3 (KTVK) reporter Bruce Haffner
and his cameraman Hilton taped the Vimy from all angles and interviewed
Mark Rebholz. Their Vimy story appeared on Channel 3 just before 8:00
        AM on Wednesday morning.
While maintenance work was going on, the Vimy was visited by a number
of Phoenix area fans who had come to the Confederate Air Force Museum
specifically to see the plane. Other Vimy volunteers were on hand to answer
questions about the plane and to sell tee shirts and hats to help support
        the project.
