USAIG Returns as a Major Sponsor by Mark Rebholz 5-March-00 USAIG has returned to the Vimy Project team as a major sponsor and will supply our insurance needs for our upcoming flying season. This is great news for our project because now we can confidently plan our appearances knowing we will be insured and able to participate in all events that require proper insurance, such as the EAA Young Eagles event scheduled for April 29 at the Wickenburg, Arizona airport. USAIG was our insurance sponsor for the VIMY 1994 flight from England to Australia and we are very happy to have them back with us. Many thanks to Patrick Healy and Peter McMillan for their efforts in securing this sponsorship that is so vital to the continued operation of the Silver Queen. Last week the BOSE CORPORATION was sent a demo video and some sample slides from the England to Cape Town flight, all supplied by our project photojournalist Peter McBride. Dick Merriott, from BOSE, was very impressed with the images and is now organizing the display event for AirVenture 2000 (Oshkosh) that will focus on "The Flight of the Silver Queen" as the promotional display for this year's event. BOSE will have a theatre at convention where the public can view many of the scenes from Africa while highlighting the performance of the BOSE headsets and flying helmets we used on the trip. I am sure this will be a very exciting display. The month of May will be very exciting for us...look for the National Geographic article "Queen of the African Sky", and also the first in a series of articles in Sport Aviation, the journal of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
