Winging it

A replica of the Vickers Vimy airplane, a twin-engine originally designed as a World War I bomber and named after Vimy Ridge, lands late yesterday at Downsview airport after a week-long journey from California. The last leg of the trip took pilots Mark Rebholz and Dan Downs from Oshkosh, Wi, to London, Ont, to go through customs and then on to Toronto. The plane will be at the Toronto Aerospace Museum at Downsview Park for three to five days, will replicate the first transatlantic flight, competed in 1919,setting out from St. John's Nlfd., for Ireland next month.
